Totally screwed Christmas

Let’s be precise - this Christmas was the most fucked up Christmas I have ever suffered in my life.

  1. No snow
  2. No presents
  3. No peaceful being with family
  4. No nothing!

Yay! I got to pull my drunk father home! The dreamest of my dreams! What next? Being run over in the street by a truck, driven by a Santa costume wearing jerk?

OK, fuck that. This wasn’t Christmas, so I’ll make it Thanksgiving then. We don’t have anything like that in Lithuania, but I don’t care. So here goes:

  • THANKS, Dad, you really fucked everything up!

On to more serious thanks:

  • Thanks, Vaiva, for being near and keeping me within the constraints of reality. Good friends are good, brightly minded good friends are better.
  • Thanks, Eglė, for everything you have done to me. Being with you was one of the greatest experiences in my life.
  • Thanks, Darius, for being a great pal and great musician. Even though I most probably won’t return to the band, I’d like to meet you some day just for the sake of doing something together.
  • Thanks, Povilas, for being irritating as you are. Even though I would like to see a lot more of your progress in everything, sometimes you DO give me some good ideas.
  • Thanks, Lina, even though I’m yet to see you in reality. Your support is very much appreciated.
  • Thanks, JoyfulChicken (ha, didn’t expect that?), for bringing a whole lot different perspective of the stupidity of human beings.
  • Thanks, Phil Plait, for keeping me interested in science (yeah right, like he’s going to read this…)
  • Thanks, Šarūnė. Even though I don’t know you that good, I think you’re a wonderful person and you have already done many things to help me without even noticing it.
  • Thanks, Karolis. Despite the fact that our relationship is only about playing bridge, Diplomacy and maybe Advanced Civilization in the near future, I already think you’re one of the greatest gamers I have ever met.
  • Thanks, Jurgis, for giving me interesting ideas and providing with an interesting project to realise them.
  • Thanks, Ievšalnė. You’re the greatest maniacs in the world. I’m looking foward to anything we’ll be doing together in the future. Sorry if that birthday party was a mess.
  • Thanks, Ina Marija, for showing, how to be happy. You’re the best Red Hot Chili Peppers fan in the world!
  • Thanks, Antanas, for introducing me to the world of bridge ;-)
  • Thanks, Mindaugas, for being as friendly as Michael Schumacher fan can be to Michael Schumacher’s antifan. Looking forward to those cardboard models.
  • And, of course, thanks to everyone who’s not mentioned here. Your influence to my life is noticed and valued.

Now screw you, Dad!

Nobody here!

If you have a lot of spare time and want to spend it weirdly (but pleasantly and with an artistic touch), you may want to check out this site.

Thanks to my new friend Šarūnė for pointing me this great link.

(Geez, that’s makes quite a lot of categories, named by various girls. I have to add Darius and someone else there as well just to balance things out)

Sudden Memories

I was browsing Google for some Nelly Furtado images and noticed a caption underneath one of them: “Crush of the moment - Nelly Furtado”. Heh, I can relate to that - she’s an awesome musician and a very beautiful woman. Frankly, she’s my crush of the moment as well. Weirdly, my previous crush of the moment was no one else but AdRock from the Beastie Boys. OK, I know, he’s a dude and it sounds pretty gay, but I really liked the way he looks and the way he raps. OK, homophobes, you can shoot me if you want now. I believe you have more reasons than enough for that.

Anyway, far more important than that is the sudden rush of past memories that I’ve endured past two days. First of all, one of my classmates wrote me after quite a long time. It was very unexpected, it was, I guess, more than a year after our last email message. It was very fun and exciting, because I was starting to miss her a bit, just that I wasn’t brave enough to write first. I’m never brave enough for that. OK, sometimes I do write, but that takes a lot of effort.

However, this was quickly beaten by quite a different happening. Me and Jelou Medou were playing in some sort of music festival. There were a few good bands, so it was overall a fun experience, even though some of the “musicians” outright made my ears hurt. Anyway, before the concert all bands were doing a soundcheck, and when we came into the hall where everything was happening, I noticed a girl playing the drums. I stared at her for at least five minutes until I realized that she is not my exgirlfriend. Still, she brought up quite a lot of painful and pleasant memories, and I decided to talk a bit with her, even though she wasn’t who I first thought she was. That was quite fun, and we exchanged emails. So she might not be my exgirlfriend, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get to know her a little bit better. And, of course, get to know her band better, because they play some good music.

The image of my exgirlfriend haunts me a lot more often now though… Too bad, I had almost convinced myself I can live on without her, so it seems I will have to start from scratch again.
